  • Can I enter this score from beatmania The Final?
  • What about Complete Mix 2? My arcade machine is awesome.
  • Where is Paranoia Funky Bleep Mix?
  • Can I enter this emulator score?
Retrofuture is designed for PSX beatmania only. No arcade, sim, or emulator scores allowed. That means that in Konami's infinite wisdom, they neglected to release CS versions of the last handful of arcade mixes, which you will not be able to enter scores for. The reason for this is that there is a chance that playing a song on another version will make it easier to time/score/clear. This does not make it fair to other users that aren't so fortunate to have an arcade cabinet nearby. See the next question for further explanation of the system used here...
Why does song ___ appear more than once in my songview page? Which one should I enter a score for?
Each song receives an entry for each version in which it appears. Unlike how VJ Army works, song entries do not "carry over" between versions. The reasoning for this is that some songs may appear in one version that doesn't have Just Greats, and another that does. Or in two versions with different timing, different mods, or a completely new chart. This also promotes collecting and playing all of the older versions as well.
I believe that song X by user Y is bullshit/typo/erroneous.
To challenge a user's score, please visit this forum. Players unable to refute the challenge or unwilling to change their score will have their score and/or account removed. Of course, since everyone that signed up agreed not to post fake scores, I shouldn't have to do this, right?
Song X in difficulty Y has an incorrect notecount/rating.
_th Mix needs to have HS3 option enabled!
Song Z's title/genre/artist is spelled incorrectly!
By all means, let me know. Be specific with your report, and if possible, provide a correction- either the right notecount, spelling, or whatnot.
What is your convention for song entry and spelling?
I am entering songs by version, with each song getting a unique entry for each version it appears in. This solves the problem of how songs may repeat in other versions but change slightly. Here's how I have allocated the charts themselves:

  • In the earlier beatmania releases, songs only had one notechart. I placed these on Normal.
  • Occasionally, there would be a separate entry on the song wheel for a "Hard version" of another song, (i.e. Hunting For You). I merged these so they have both a Normal and Hard chart.
  • Around 4th mix, "Another" charts began to appear, along with a division between Normal and Hard modes. Songs with Another charts were only accessible through Hard mode, thankfully, but that left the problem that while some songs were exclusive to Basic or Hard modes, some spanned both. If a song has unique Normal (Basic) and Hard charts, it received a Normal and Hard entry here, along with an Another if applicable.
  • Songs that appeared on both Basic and Hard modes but had the same chart (i.e. Popcorn) received only one entry, on Normal, along with an Another if applicable.
  • Special case for Gottamix2 Bonus Edit: all of the special remixes on this version will have exclusively Another entries, since they were originally accessible through Hard mode on Complete Mix 2 arcade.

Here are my conventions for spelling song information on this site:

  • I will do my best to match the spelling and capitalization of song names and artists as they appear in the game.
  • Genre names will always be written in lowercase, except for the "Dancemania" label songs. This because originally they were all lowercase, but around 4th mix, they all converted to uppercase. Rather than follow that pattern, I will use lowercase here, mainly for aesthetic purposes.

I will try to stick my these conventions. If you would like to point out or ask about a deviation, mention it on the forums. Attention to detail is always important!
